vw polo Help!?

Hey all can someone tell me were i should look to see if my fan
is clogged with dirt as my heaters within the car are very weak and i cant demist my windows very dangerous the fan still runs as i can here it but im not to sure were the air actually enters the car so i cant check to see if its clogged or not would be very grateful if any one can help me out with this. cheers ,M
