Isn’t this likely a problem with the vacuum-operated central-locing system? Possibly a split in one of the vacuum-hoses? The pump is probably in the rear of the car, on the floor. Consult a Haynes manual? Or a VW owners’ forum?
First there is no vacuum in the door. There is only a metal cable and a door latch. The latch could of got stuck because of dirt etc. Uses WD-40 and spray into the door latch.
vw man is right with the whole no vac thing. its probably best to actually replace the lock as spraying wd40 will loosen the latch but it wont be long before it will keep on doing it and causing you more grief. so ya might as well
look if anything is in the way of the door.
