Just asked my Husband he is also a mechanic, he said no he has never had it happen and we drive VW. Nor has he seen it happen on any VW’s he has worked on.

I have chaved up mk3 gti in for repair at the moment with a broken shaft. It does not help the fact its lowered so much !
